Here are the hottest events coming to the Staples Center for the rest of this August:

Ed Sheeran

August 10 – 12, 2017 @ 7:30

If having three back-to-back concerts at the Los Angeles Staples Center doesn’t prove you’ve made it in life… we don’t know what does! Ed Sheeran was planning on performing just two shows, but because of an overwhelming demand, he has added a third night to his LA concert.

The tour celebrates Sheeran’s landmark third studio album “÷.”– pronounced “divide” – which includes top hits, “Shape of You” and “Castle On The Hill.” These two songs were debuted in January and helped Ed Sheeran break major records – becoming the first artist to EVER have two singles make simultaneous top 10 debuts in the 58-year-long Billboard’s “Hot 100” history. “Shape of You” debuted at #1 – which was Sheeran’s first time making the overall chart – and stayed at #1 for the six weeks straight, while “Castle On The Hill” joined the chart at #6. Both songs became the first songs of 2017 to receive RIAA certifications. “Shape of You” became certified 2x-platinum, and “Castle on the Hill” earned gold.

These two songs aren’t the only songs that performed well. Sheeran’s entire album was released March 3rd and shot up to #1 on iTunes in 96 different countries around the globe. The album also broke historical streaming records: best-ever one day streams for a single artist (68,695,172), best one day streams for an individual album (56,727,861), and best first day streams for an individual album (56,727,861).

If you thought those numbers were crazy, check this out. “Shape Of You” broke the record for best one day stream for a single track with a whopping 10,123,630 streams. That’s over 10 million streams of one song in just one day! If you haven’t gotten your ticket to catch Ed in concert, you are missing out on history.

KCON is the original convention dedicated to bringing “All Things Hallyu” to the American fan base. Hallyu means the Korean Wave. KCON brings together all the elements that create Hallyu like Korean pop music, television dramas, movies, fashion, food, and beauty for everyone to enjoy. You can expect to see Astro, Comic Girls, Girl’s Day, Heize, NCT 127, Seventeen, SF9, and more!

KCON is more than just a concert. Those attending will get the opportunity to meet their favorite celebrities, listen to engaging panels, join interactive workshops, and visit a number of booths dedicated to all things Hallyu.

In 2012, KCON was created as a one-day event in Irvine at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre. In just three years, KCON grew much faster than expected. By 2015, KCON expanded to two locations for a five-day long celebration. Three days took place in the Los Angeles Convention Center, while two nights were dedicated to music at the Staples Center. KCON even expanded to New York that year with a night of the best K-pop music. Even FUSE called KCON one of the “22 Best Music Festivals of 2015.”

Today, KCON is not just an event in America. It expanded much further than from LA to NY. KCON is a global phenomenon. Even Japan, Abu Dhabi, and Paris host KCON now. Just last year, 180,000 people across the globe gathered together for this impressive event.
