Los Angeles Sparks

LA Sparks vs Connecticut Sun: Sep. 3 @ 1:00 PM

The LA Sparks are Los Angeles’ professional women’s basketball team in the Western Conference in the WNBA. Last year, they defeated the Minnesota Lynx in the WNBA Finals.

Their inaugural season began in 1997, and they are the most recent women’s team to win back-to-back titles. For their past 20 years in the league, they have gone on to join the playoffs for 16 of those years. That’s more than any other team in the WNBA. Don’t miss the most successful women’s professional basketball team.

M.C. Hammer

Sep. 8 @ 8:00 PM

Stanley Kirk Burrell, or as you might know him – M.C. Hammer, is bringing his greatest hits and slickest dance moves to the Staples Center, along with Keyshia Cole, Goapele, V Bozeman, and Oakland Fight Club. He is best known for his records “U Can’t Touch This” and “2 Legit 2 Quit.” Many people believe he pioneered pop rap.

M.C. Hammer is not just an artist and dancer, but he is also a record producer and entrepreneur. He was a television show host, a dance judge, a reality show producer, and he even starred in a cartoon. But that’s not it, he was even a preacher on a Christian ministry program that aired on television.

Ever heard of Hammer pants? You’ve probably seen them. They’re even back in style right now! Hammer pants are baggy pants that are tapered at the ankle and were intended for hip-hop dancing. M.C. Hammer made these Arabian pants popular, thus being dubbed Hammer Pants. M.C. Hammer is one of the most accomplished rappers. You don’t want to miss out on seeing the legend in concert!

Daryl Hall & John Oates and Tears for Fears

Sep. 14 @ 7:00 p.m.

Sep. 15 @ 7:00 p.m.

Daryll Hall and John Oates are best known as Hall & Oats. This musical duo is straight from Philadelphia. With Hall on vocals and Oates on electric guitar, they create a perfect blend of rock and roll with rhythm and blues. These guys write their own music and rose to fame in the late 1970s.

Throughout their career together, they’ve sold around 40 million records – which makes them the third best-selling music duo of all time. Their most popular hits to make it to Number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 are “Rich Girl,” “Kiss on My List,” “Private Eyes,” “I Can’t Go for That (No Can Do),” “Maneater,” and “Out of Touch.” Billboard Magazine even called them the most successful duo of the rock era because of their incredible success. They had 34 songs in total that made it to the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, along with 7 RIAA platinum albums and 6 RIAA gold albums.

The duo was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2003 and into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2014. They rescheduled their tour dates from July, so this is the perfect opportunity to see them with Tears for Fears.
